Replacing a 2 handle faucet with a single. Or "Do you really want to cut the Pex pipe?"

I recently took on a project to replace my two handle faucet with a nicer single faucet which required some engineering. The Pex pipes are at 90 degree connections. So I had to face my fear and cut the pipes for easier access and to connect to hoses on the new faucet. This requires attaching Shark Bite valves after cutting the pipes.

There were a couple of issues to get the hoses through the sinkhole, attaching the escutcheon and installing the valves. Kind of scary cutting the pipes. One of those things that if you don’t do correctly, you can permanently ruin something.

As we know, just fitting under the sink cabinet can be hindering. But going slow, double checking the cuts and fittings went pretty well. I also wrapped the Pex pipes in insulation to further prevent freezing in the winter.
Watch this video for the full process. It explains it better than I can in writing.
What project have you taken on lately? Write a summary and send some pictures and/or video so we can feature in the next Trailblazer.

The only detractor (for me and my partner) with new faucets is the control on the right, and I'm right-handed!
